Central Mongolia is form a solid mountain mass near the center of the Mongolia. The land is gentle slopes covered with fine pastureland. You will spend about 1450 kms road for 9 days in your tour. You can see beautiful landscapes, meet the local people and experience real nomad life.

ITINERARY

Day 1st Khugnu Khan Natural Reserve

KhognoKhan Nature Reserve cover 470.000m² and became protected in 1997. This is the magnificent place with mountains, forests, steppe, Gobi type desert and mineral water sources all in one location and home of many wild animals such as Wolves, Deer, Foxes and even Snow Leopard. In the KhognoKhan Nature Reserve there are an extraordinary semi-desert called Elsen Tasarkhai, part of the Great Mongol Sand dunes, extends 80 km. At the southern foot of the mountain there are two ancient ruins of Buddhist monasteries. This area is pleasant for many activities such as hiking, mountain climbing and horse,  riding. Day 3rd Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall

We will visit Uurt gorge,  Orkhon river, and the Ulaantsutgalan waterfall in Orkhon valley. The Ulaantsutgalan waterfall is situated in historically significant  Orkhon valley, whose river flows an incredible 1120 km to the north before it joins the  Selenge  river. Also called Ulaantsutgalan, the waterfall was formed by unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes about 20000  years ago. (B/L/D – stay family operated ger)

Day 5th Tsenkher

Mineral and hot springs have been an important part of Mongolian traditional medicine. There are springs that heal and others for relaxation. The Tsenkher hot springs are located in the Arkhangai province at an altitude of 1850 meters above sea level. By the time you count to one, the spa effuses 10 liters of water. The water comes from deep reaching up to 90 degrees Celsius. There are a number of tourist camps in the area.(B/L/D – stay tourist camp)

Day 7th  Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur /Terkh  white lake/

Today is free leisure day, hiking and riding horse. (B/L/D – stay tourist camp)

Day 9th Ulaanbaatar

Today is back to drive Ulaanbaatar.We’ll transfer you to your accommodation in UB and the rest of the day will be yours to create your own experience. you to explore the urban side of Mongolian life in downtown Ulaan Baatar. (B/L- hotel which is your own chose)

Day 2nd Kharakhorin

After breakfast drive to Kharakhorum and it was ancient capital of Mongol Empire in 13th century. Kharkhorin was built in 1235  by Ogodei Khaan , who was Chingis Khaan’s third son and his successor . The foundations of Kharkhorin’s buildings are all underground and Erdene-Zuu Monastery was built near ruins of ancient capital in 1586. We will visit the Erdenezuu monastery which contains valuable items that represents the Buddhist culture in Mongolia and Kharakhorum museum. (B/L/D – stay guest house)

Day 4th Ulaan tsutgalan waterfall

Today is full day horse riding in the Orkhon Valley.(B/L/D – stay family operated ger)

Day 6th Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur /Terkh  white lake and Khorgo volcanic crater/

Terkiin Tsagaan Nuur and Khorgo crater are in Tariat sum, a local administration unit which is a magnificent region of extinct volcanoes. The lake is surrounded by the Khangai mountain range and more than 10 rivers, including the Terkh, pour into the lake while Suman river flows out. Academics have proven that Khorgo was a volcano that erupted twice 9 million years ago. Khorgo volcano, 2240 meters above sea level, is the youngest of all the volcanoes in the country. Its pre-historic lava flowed 100 km to the east of the mountain, and to the Suman and Chuluut rivers. The crater slopes at about 70 degrees, its depth is about 100 meters, and its diameter is 200 meters. Here we can be riding horse a full day. (B/L/D –stay tourist camp)

Day 8th Ugii Lake

Ugii lake is located in the center of Mongolia and in the territory of Arkhangai province is one of the biggest lakes of Mongolia. Ugii lake has 27 kms square area. Average depth is 6.64m, in some sections 15.3m, coast length is 23.5m. The lake, designated as a Ramsar Site of International Importance, is known for various types of fish and birds, which creates an incredible natural beauty. Ugii lake provides  favorable condition for birds research work. (B/L/D – stay guest house)
